Thai Yoga Massage (Nuad Phaen Boran) is   an ancient healing system with influences from Indian yoga and Chinese acupressure. Dr. Jivaka Khumar Bhaccha, personal physician to the Indian royal family and friend of Buddha, is considered to be the founder of this massage. Nuad is a method, like most methods from the Far East that treats people in body, soul and spirit. One works with energy pathways, or Sen, which run through the body and provide the body with vital energy (prana). Click here for the history of Thai Yoga Massage.

During Thai Yoga Massage, the recipient remains clothed and lies in loose fitting comfortable, cotton garments on a soft mattress on the floor. No oil is used in this massage.

The purpose of massage is to harmonise the body and release blockages. Thai massage works on a deep physical and energy level. Yoga ideologies are a fundamental aspect of this massage. The activation of the energy lines and pressure on acupressure points also play an important role. Since the massage and yoga postures merge smoothly into one another, Thai Yoga Massage can also be compared with a meditative dance. The massage gives a feeling of deep relaxation and harmony. In addition, it makes the muscles flexible and joints stronger, activates blood circulation and lymphatic system and brings the energy pathways in a better balance.
